Toyota Motor North America shares its 2023 North American Environmental Sustainability Report, emphasizing progress toward United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). The report covers activities in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico and focuses on four priority areas: Emissions, Aquatic Resources, Raw Materials, and Ecological Diversity.
Notable achievements include 66 percent of Toyota and Lexus models in North America having electrified options, with more to come, and the release of 132 million gallons of water as a component of a collaborative effort to restore water to the Colorado River Delta through the release into the Hardy River. Toyota reduced single-use packaging weight by 15 percent and recycled, reused, or repurposed 93 percent of waste in 2022. Biodiversity efforts include developing 10,337.9 acres of pollinator habitat and partnering with Wildlife Habitat Council for conservation programs at 14 sites. The report reflects Toyota's commitment to the Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050.
